Four-Decade Veteran Chef's Original Recipe

Cooking Tips for Best Results

Our blackened seasoning can be used on a variety of foods to add a delicious flavor.

When using our blackened seasoning on fish or seafood, you should wash and dry the fish or seafood first. Heat skillet while you dip the fish or seafood in melted butter. Transfer fish or seafood to another plate. Then, sprinkle a reasonable amount of seasoning (to your taste) on each side of the fish or seafood and place in the heated skillet. Cook about 5 seconds on each side, and finish cooking in a heated oven.

For best results with poultry, rinse and dry poultry first. Heat skillet (medium heat) while you dip the poultry in melted butter. Then sprinkle a reasonable amount of blackened seasoning on each side of the poultry. Place the poultry in the heated pan. Flip to cook each side (about 5 seconds on each side), and finish cooking in a heated oven.

Blackened steaks are always a winner. For great tasting results, grill your steaks first. Then, brush with a good amount of melted butter. Next, sprinkle with a reasonable amount of blackened seasoning. Place in a medium heated skillet for about 5 seconds (to prevent burning). Flip over to cook each side. Make sure to use a spatula to get all of the seasoning from the bottom of the skillet.
